Well, heās done it.
Kanye WestĀ officially announced that he will be running for president in the 2020 election.
On Saturday (July 4), the rapper used Independence Day to reveal the (un)surprising news on Twitter. āWe must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States šŗšø!ā the 43-year-oldĀ tweetedĀ last night with the hashtag ā#2020Vision,ā which appears to be Yeās slogan for his presidential campaign. (Weāll admit, itās pretty catchy.)
Call the āBlack Skinheadā emcee crazy if you want, he has his supporters.
Among those who reacted to Yeās presidential bid include wifeĀ Kim Kardashian, Tesla magnateĀ Elon Musk, and plenty of others ā whose responses wereā¦ interesting, to say the least.
Kim simply shared an American Flag emoji in support of her husband, whereas Musk rooted for the rapper, writing, āYou have my full support!ā
Others, likeĀ Tiffany HaddishĀ andĀ Paris Hilton, took Yeās announcement in jest.
āWe must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I too am running for president of the United States šŗšø! #2020VISIONāĀ wroteĀ Haddish, as Hilton retorted, āPARIS FOR PRESIDENT āØšŗšøšøš¼āØā
The āStrongerā musicianās presidential campaign announcement shouldnāt come as a surprise.
As some fans may recall, Ye actually used his appearance at the 2015 iHeartRadio Music Festival to allude to his bid while singing āOnly One,ā in which he slipped in the lyrics, āYouāll be the man you always knew you could be ā 2020.ā
